when i saw the thumbnails i got excited and thought this was going to be a kick ass ad but i was cheated.
I like the idea of using old movie clips but not for double glazing windows maybe for a sound studio or something.

Exactly! I too saw the thumbnails, got all excited, and now feel cheated. This is a great concept, but I'm afraid it's wasted on this product.

No folks. Idea is very good. I'm suprised only but that execution probably done in 5 minutes. Pity.

It's more accurately translated as "Noise just got old". Not that it makes the ad any better...

Conceptually speaking, this is just as good as the Weru windows campaign from Scholz & Friends.
Although just a bit gimmicky, using art cards from those silent films to drive home the message
of making noise a thing of the past is, dare I say, BRILLIANT. It's just that the art direction falls a little flat. There's nothing wrong with the layout except for that hideous "white box" around the logo that sticks out like a sore thumb. A little crafting (but don't overdo it!!) might have made this campaign an awards show contender without a question.
Awesome thinking, nonetheless.

In no way does this even come close to the Weru campaign.

I honestly believe if this were better crafted, you wouldn't have said those exact words.
I think you're somewhat blinded by Weru campaign's high production value to see past the "flat" facade of this campaign. I think the creative thinking process here feels very organic, logical and simple just like that of Weru's work.
There's no doubt their ads are visually more entertaining and the humor sometimes outrageously funny. But on a basic "conceptual" level, this work is just as good and solid as Weru's if not better.
The common message of sound-proof windows is obvious. But there's an added element of making noise a thing of the past that makes this campaign a little more cerebral. And the silent film title cards as a visual device make total sense.
I absolutely LOVE Weru ads. Every single one of them. But given a proper chance and better craftsmanship, this campaign can stand up against Weru on a level playing field.

You gotta be kidding me. The Weru ad by scholz and friends, although i can't believe i am speaking for them here, is a 1000 times better than this crap. Crap, yeah you heard me. Making such problems " a thing of the past" is the oldest way of portraying an advertising idea. And you mister Jet think it is brilliant? What the hell do you do with your time? Banners?

Wow, that hurt! Banners. Yes, tons and tons of friggin' banners is ALL I do. I eat banners. I breathe banners. And I sleep banners. I even have a dog named "Banners". "Here Banners! C'mere boy! THAT'S a good dog!!"

I like the 'Silent Movie' idea.
My issue is, what I perceive to be, the doorbell sound. (Am I wrong?)
A sound the household needs to hear.

Agreed, re the poor art direction. Has the style of a PowerPoint page.

>>>> That's not an ad. THIS is an ad.

The ad name is called Church so I presume that's a church bell ringing. But yes, I would've also perceived it also as a doorbell.

I like the concept showing that noise is now silent as it was in old movies, but I think something got lost in translation or that the copy isn't clear enough.
I agree that the art dierction is pretty weak.

I don't know whether it works better in French, but the English copy doesn't make sense as in the past there was no sound in movies, but now there is. I works well without the copy, I think. However Rog is right, I also thought of a doorbell first.
