Not sure what people aren't getting. This is a good ad. Smart and simple.

I work for a Corporate Social Responsibility firm. Advertising is not art; Advertising is not genial ideas to satisfy a bunch of critics; adv was made to persuade a segment. The ad works perfect!

Creativity is an inner monster.

realizations in the world of advertising.....jack off

its an online forum, where peeps can talk
shit behind a key board, and give props to
agencies whos work obviously kicks ass
because it shows they put in a valiant effort.

picking on this kinda stuff is what we do in
the meantime between those two activities :)

keep jabbering....doesn't make my beer any colder

When I buy $370 worth of condoms and a bottle of Nestea, you don't have to "persuade" me to use a plastic bag to take my shit home.

GeorgeMo's picture

But you do have to persuade people to take a biodegradeable bag instead of a plastic one. And this ad's intent is to make you spend that $370 with Pharmasave instead of somewhere else.

I agree - it works. Could be more stylish for greater impact though.

Okay. Two things:

1. Is this ad trying to say that the bags they use at cash registers (after you make a purchase) are biodegradable? Or,
2. Is this ad trying to say that they now sell biodegradable plastic bags in boxes of, say, 80 count?

But really, it doesn't matter. The ad is still horrible.

I think that the problem with this one is the Photography ----> because they wanted to show "SOIL" instead of "DIRT".

But it works. Its a simple idea. Its "ok".

The blank page works great for me.. I do wish the soil looked more decent though, and less like pooch poop.

I really like the idea.
But maybe the dirt should look grey - ashes to ashes?

just a white page would do better

i saw some really good/better ads "against" bags non-biodegradable:
http://adsoftheworld.com/forum/exhibition/for_a_better_planet

deserve to be on front page... at least deserve more than this one here.

GeorgeMo's picture

All of those ads give the false impression that biodegradeable plastic is leaky though. Doesn't that undercut the message?

^^ agreed.

Why so literal?

The bags break down. They're at Pharmasave. That's the message. The solution works.
