penguin books is going to kill me? well i say, when it comes to threats, take a number penguin books. you see, smokey the bear told me when i was five that "only i could prevent forest fires" which was pretty ironic given that i lived 100 miles from the woods. then nancy reagan told me to "just say no to drugs" and i was like "ok. but i'm like 7 so i don't really know what you mean, nancy, but you're old and so you must know something i don't." and now this. how long must i live in fear. helllllllllllllllllllp.

It's simple art direction and a simple headline.
It would be welcomed relief to see this kind of ad in Norway

Yeah, wordnerd.

The line was great back in the '80s when Todd Tilford first wrote it.

And in the 25+ years since when every cooking show chef uttered it about his/her recipe.

Good Lord.

Looks like someone forgot about the "if, then" clause.

Being an ad for a publishing company, you'd think someone would have caught that grammar error. Bummer.

the line is from the movie 'Topgun'

Charlie: Where did you see this?
Maverick: Uh, that's classified.
Charlie: It's what?
Maverick: It's classified. I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you.

It doesn't matter what this is, genial or lame. It's 007... it will sell anyway.

i think they were going for a more colloquial feel than a literary one, ironic since they sell books. I think the line is too easy.
