What's so 80s about this? If you look up the work Jill Greenberg and Dave Hill, you'll realize this style is very in right now. As far as the idea goes, yeah Spidey isn't necessarily groundbreaking when doing stuff-that-sticks-on-walls ads. A lizard or fly would have 'done' just fine.

I WANT THOSE GLOVES

This has some of the worst photoshopping I have seen in a while. The thumb and index finger are clearly cut out. The black web design on the spiderman glove are off perspective and incorrectly aligned. Nice try though. But, if you don't pay attention to the horrible idea, the bad photoshopping and the awesome layout, this is a great ad. (Sarcasm is fantastic.)
