I loved the concept..... but why the granpa looks so sad, while the granny so happy?

Quite really.
Actually I think the old guy's face is a cue to let us know he is one angry, grumpy old man. And after all those years, there's still something so strong that makes them stay together and happily in their own way. Notice the arm he has around her? That tell us he digs her. He's just one of those old guys. Mad at the world. But in love with the gal that's been making him dinner for the past sixty thousand decades or so.

1) I think she's a psycho ! she's the one who used the glue to force the man to be stick with her for always, that's why she's smiling and not him.
2) Or they used the glue when they were young, the man was agree (love proof)... but many years later, he regrets !
