The only difference between this and the Everready Torch ad is that the copy specifies the importance of light during blackouts. Everready doesn't do this. It doesn't make the Everready ad less effective in my opinion (although there were many comments, ie. "Why wouldn't you just turn on the light? DUH!?), but what it DOES accomplish is highlight the benefit of flashlights during blackouts, it plays on peoples' dislike of inconvenience. People might actually go by a flashlight because of this ad. Or at least check their flashlight batteries. Even if they aren't Panasonic.
Since rediff has done it earlier, I would appreciate those one better

DON'T LIKE IT. POOR EXECUTION.
DON'T LIKE IT AT ALL. POOR EXECUTION FOR AN IDEA THAT HAS ALREADY BEEN DONE WITH BETTER COPY AND DESIGN.

I DON'T GET IT HOW THIS END UP HERE... BUT I DON'T THINK THIS DESERVE TO BE HERE.
Great concept and idea, i expected more for the execution...
