Bad execution. To much photoshop

Overkill on the use of theLuciesart filter.
Can someone please explain the ad: what is the relation between hair growing out of the guys nose/ear/ eyebrows and oxygen sensors ?

Guest's picture

huh?

At least one can relate to oxygen here but that's not important. I feel the visual relevance is caught up in one layer too many. The negativity could've been avoided.

oxygen sensors don't relate to breathing...they're an auto part.

Dev Kumar's picture 834 pencils

Thanks mate. Yeah I know they're an auto part. I feel these visuals are too layered and the communication is headed in another direction. In the entire series, only this one could relate in some way to the term "oxygen" if that was what the makers of this piece of communication intended although it's apparent that they didn't. So you see, it was just a pun.

Who's the target? Mechanics, I suppose. So why these ads are ridiculing this occupational group?

"Save time using our product, spend more time on other things .... "
Not so fresh insight and not very exciting copy. AD is so-so.

Overall not so very good, but ok minus idea.

"Collecting points for what!?"

Guest's picture

Definitely not a fresh idea...

Yeah, bad use of HDR. Too artificial.

Plus, they ripped us off. I did a campaign several years ago in Columbus. It was a LOT better (funnier, not cliche, etc).

post a link.

Just look in your pile of portfolio samples.

Guest's picture

you've told us 3 times, post a link or shut up

Guest's picture

lol. We'll make sure to send our campaigns side by side around to Columbus creatives. No one should send their book to your agency.

confusing, weird photoshop, but not a bad idea in general.

oh god it's about his nose-hair?! took me a damn whole minute to spot. nice example of arting away the idea

Honest Dave's picture 233 pencils

Didn't even get this was nose hair until I read the comment above. Just looks like a mustache.

Guest's picture

Very expected. The idea could have been executed waaaaay better.

Guest's picture

Hi, I'm a creative in Columbus and I've seen the original campaign they "borrowed" this from. Engauge not only borrowed the campaign, but made it pedestrian.

Guest's picture

just checking in. Yep, this still sucks.

Please I wants an explanation for this advertising campaign

Wow, a lot of petty jealousy going on here. The idea is pretty broad so I can see where similar ads could have been created. The idea is funny and quite clear. Puzzled by all the confusion. This part installs quick and right the first time so you have time to tend to other things. What's not to get? Not amazing, but quite good considering the category and the fact it's clearly a trade ad.
