I protest this creative strongly, the author could criticize Communist Party, but it's son of a gun to affront our national flag.
If you have time, please visit China, you will found it dosen't same as your thought. You will like her and her people.
I am a Chinese guy, and want to make the friends from the world. ideally, hot girl is welcome:)
chill, its just an ad... a smart one. i dont think it was meant to offend anyone but just stating a fact everyone knows china as. but flag ads is done to death.
Relax.
The history and symbolism of the flag are quite intertwined with the ideals of the ruling party (as opposed to, say, the ones of the US or UK flags). And if you really want to discuss what affront this ad would be to the chinese people(s), look at what the creators (probably unknowingly) removed from the flag. It's the large star representing the communist party. The ones representing the workers, peasants, petty bourgeoisie and (sic!) patriotic capitalists are still there. Be it arranged in a more hotel-capitalistic order.
My bad. The large star wasn't removed. It was just incorporated into the hotel-capitalist framework. Which, in a way, isn't very capitalist.
Being that there is NO room for Communism in a Capitalist approach, there should be no fifth star at all.

Wow, do you know other meanings for these stars? It is only folk story:)
the big star is Mailand China, and other stars are Hongkong, Taiwan, Macao and Mongolia,
the areas will unite a new China.

Here's from the official government guide to China:
"The design of four smaller stars surrounding a bigger one signifies the unity of the Chinese people under the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC). "
http://english.gov.cn/2005-08/16/content_23394.htm
Now, the meaning of "the Chinese people" has been a matter of discussion. I admit that it isn't entirely clear-cut (see eg http://flagspot.net/flags/cn.html ).
However, your interpretation - with the large star symbolising the mainland etc etc - is a bit problematic as well. Given, of course, that mainland China isn't in fact the physical representation of the Communist Party of China. Which would be a rather unique take on the theory of historical materialism (or a Platonic-idealism-gone-wild). ^^
creative? dont think so!!! and not i didnt find it funny neither.n chinese people wouldnt buy into this ads....
they didnt even understand the real meaning of chinese flag.
对作者来说是所谓的“创意”
对中国人来说
这是一种很无聊的很disgusting的小聪明
