Mitsubishi: Wash me, 3
Old models cars covered in dust with drawings of brand new cars from Mitsubishi on the back window, (Colt, Grandis and Strakar), with a low price drawn in splash next to them. This campaign involved an action with the artist, Scott Wade, who traveled to Portugal to work with the creative team.

would love to know the relevance of this by knowing the copy at the bottom.
The copy at the bottom is not that relevant. It´s more like legal copy than anything else.
I think it's just a "pretty art"
SOMEONE FINALLY RIPPED THE WORK OF THAT ARTIST!
the artist in the credits so ....
I wouldn't wash these.. these are cool! he/she must live on a real dusty town.

They guy who does this art is Scott wade, and the Illustrator of this ad is Scott Wade too.. so maybe this is not a Rip Off!
But they're still just adopting a piece of existing creative work, even if the original artist is paid to do it.
Then again, award show judges don't seem to mind. Bud's original Wassup campaign and Honda's Cog spot were both taken from existing short films.
Similar situation here: http://adsoftheworld.com/media/ambient/iverhart_max_floor_graphic

And I don't think they should mind it... seeing something that is in our lives and adapting it to advertise something is creativity also...
forget concept, lets get that dude that makes cool looking stuff!
oh, i din realised it was the same guy..my bad 2 jump to fast:P
yeah.. now go wash your mouth with soap!

I miss the copy to make the use of Scott Wade's work more relevant, but i don't think that it is a rip off.
Maybe an ad for the 4x4 Mitsubishi cars with the landscapes that he drove it by would work better.
Copy: To the dust you will return.
i thought we were supposed to come here to see "good" work. this is pointless. ivan, pick up comm arts or the one show, d&ad, graphis, ANY ANNUAL. learn what "great" is, then restart your blog.
YOUR BLAWG.
You are wrong. The site is called adsoftheworld, not greatadsoftheworld.
So, maybe you are in the wrong place.
Ivan, keep up and don't listen to this.
"i thought we were supposed to come here to see "good" work. this is pointless."

Agree with the fact that it is not a rip off.
I think it's all about using things you see everyday, and adapting them to an idea.
Now, I do get the idea of the whole campaing ( please, correct me if I'm wrong: "Your car is so dirty and old, that you should change it for a new mitsubishi with these special offers" )
In that case, i think these ads need a copy that helps comunicate that.
or i must be crazy?
PErfect right to say that the ad need a copy. But i can't say the same about the idea behind on that.
what if it rains? :p

i don't think the old car concept's that bad.
of course they tried to find an idea that fits into wade's art style but who cares.
it looks great.
