Nice collection of stock photos. Kinda stock idea as well, an open head.

Photoshop image work depicting people with the top of their head chopped off cannot be made to look appealing. Cannot. Always sort of creepy, whether intended or not. So it fails for this.

Why is everyone commenting on the overall (lack of) appeal of these ads and not on their details? lol I think they are stupid but fun to look at.

But will an ad without basic appeal - because it's ugly or silly, or clumsily executed, or too obviously only a technical execution of a mundane idea -- draw an audience in the first place?

I think people are sophisticated these days about what happens behind the scenes in all media. Even book-keepers, grandmothers and 14 year olds feel comfortable commenting on the caliber not only of Photoshop work, but ad concepts. It's the environment we have created, and the mass audience has become hip to it quickly, developed standards and expectations, and put control of criteria quite out of our hands (those of us who do this kind of thing for a living) at this point.

All of which is to say I think these will be more or less "seen through" by the average page-turner. He'll keep turning.

Sorry atb. Opaque of me not to get it. I take all this stuff way too seriously sometimes. Cheers

Seeing each of the stories is fun but it's let down by the immediate wow that's gross effect. Done a slightly different way it would have worked, maybe the images coming out of the v of the pages of an almost off shot newspaper and swirling around his head (without him looking confused).
