The logo's position does look odd, and I don't know if the ad fits Mercedes' branding.
As this is a new agency for MercedesBenz, perhaps it is the new art direction...
but I think that they made this art direction specially for christmas: The Mercedes star "seems" to be the guiding star of the kings. Perhaps. I'm not sure.

the concept is old (remember that one with the guy on the stadium hours before the soccer game start), the execution is new.
the logo maybe on the other side would be better, or at the center, like the star that guide the guys to that place...
The logo is positioned such that it tells the story about who the guys are as in they followed the star to were Jesus was to be born being the three wise men at the same time serving the purpose of which car brand got them to the stables before the birth, talk about cutting a long story short. Elegant.
