They have missed their most famous logo or their mascot at the bottom right side.Otherwise it would have made a good copy.

It's cool they can get away without putting their logo.

McDs serve lobster? Or did someone notice the traps look like 'M's and went hmmmm....

Agree. Logo is definitely missing.
I was wondering if it indeed was a McDonald's ad.

Hi, well dont you think, that this ad could actually be used against mcdonalds, due to animal cruelty, you know with the trap thing going on, people may not want to know how their food is captured, but how good it tastes.

also, transforming the logo into a deadly object like a trap, could deliver a negative message and it would go against the good brand image that every company wants.

I think your thinking too much about it, people fish/catch things to eat every day, it's a way of survival.

That aside, who on earth would buy lobster/crayfish from macca's? Honeslty...

I agree with mmackinven. This is not meant to be deep. All this ad is saying is that McDonalds has fresh lobster, which, coincidentally, I'm not buying.

Including the logo is overkill. It's like telling a joke, then explaining the joke.

Do they have fresh lobster? Or some processed thing they call 'Fillet-o-lobster' or something? I kind of doubt the former. I even doubt the latter, though there are local variations in menu. You don't get a quarter pounder here for instance, but you can get a double fillet-o-fish with wasabi. But lobster?

Ignoring that, this is another okay ad, using the now familiar technique of 'finding' the arches in something related to the offer. Not bad. Not great.

An extra logo would not help.

Yeah pretty sure everyone got that. Was just saying another logo in the corner wasn't necessary like some people were saying.

I knew this was a Mcdonald's ad before i even clicked on it. It's subtle but doesn't get lost because the photo is simple and not very busy. Also a brilliant idea. Very clever.

see through an eye of a layman... there is no logo..media is all in vain

McDonald's in Maine have sold lobster rolls in the summer for years and it is fresh real lobster. I don't care for their lobster rolls, plenty of other places do it much better for around the same price. That ad was almost certainly for the Maine or Northeastern US market and lobster traps are a common sight here.

By the way, lobster traps aren't "deadly" they are made specifically to bring the lobsters out of the water alive and unharmed. Partly so those which aren't legal size can be thrown back in the water but mostly because lobster are best shipped alive.

McLobster is served in Atlantic Canada (where this ad is run) and does contain fresh lobster meat. Absence of logo speaks volumes to the brand power of this chain.
