Bragging for no good reason. So what if it's famous? It doesn't make it good. Al Kaida is famous too, yet...
What hath God wrought
Good point. But I still have problem with the idea. What's the meaning of that small white circle in a red background?
What a self-confidence... I believe it works. Everybody knows what this ad is talking about.
But again... what an unfortunate choice of colors... It looks like cover of a Lenin's book : )
It's the colors that make it work. But you're right. It does look like a communist propaganda poster.

:) good one there... Like the cover of Lenin's book :)

genius... i see the burger thats not there and the logo thats not there... and all this beautiful psychological work for a simple price message... nice though similar has been done before, this is a nice offering and works
cheers,
dlue
This guys were probably tired. Too simple.
Was thinking the same
This ad brings a student brief in the Exhibition section to mind. This would be alright as a student assignment if you wanted no visuals or logos to be used. However, I would question if this was the one and only idea and the CW and AD simply decided to stick with it.
I automatically thought McDonald's when I seen the thumbnail and that goes to show how powerful their marketing image is. I think it works, but I feel as though it's missing something or something is just not right about it.
meh.. some ideas are cool until you actually do them
It works when it have something to back up it's self confidence.
the hamburger at mcd does not cost four euros. nowhere in the european union. the big mac doesn't either. I smell a fake.

:)
I for one enjoyed the ad! had to read it.. but i think that's kuz my screen's colour is a little off! I had to create an account to defend this ad :)
not quite sure about the 4 euro thing either though! haha
an alternative tv spot for burger king:
a young man comes into burger king. He orders a whopper. He looks to the bill.
Then he shows this ad and says:
"hey, hey! I think there is a mistake. You say hamburger is only 4 euros?"
:) so happen-able...

I think this is brilliant. Only McDonalds can do it. They now it.
No logo, no photo. A big brand everybody recognize.
The Big Mac is 4 euro in Sweden (39.00 sek).
wow, seriously? it's less than 3 in germany.
Sometimes it´s 36 crowns, sometimes its 39 crowns.
Who care´s that has nothing to to with the ad, I guess.
simple. it's just saying that the "world's most famous burger" is cheap as hell.
Stop Mediocrity. Start Creativity.
There are two kinds of people in the world; people who like mustangs (cool people) and people who like camaros (idiots).
+self confidence or over confidence ?

~ Quite obviously, I have gathered no moss ! ~
What I like in this ad is it's tiny bit of sarcasm: it actually made me recognize McDonald's without using any 'traditionally important' brand elements: logo and product.
It's a simple yet still amusing 3-sec puzzle to be solved. I think the white price sticker design is just following the 'nu skool' graphic design trends.
