Where to start ?

Start listing what you like about the ad first.

I can´t .... I tried to, but it´s too hard =\ The idea of people skying and holding Mcdonalds trays just seem to go a little too far. And the copy doesn´t help either. I think they lost a great oportunity to come up with something actually good.

Yes, copy definitely can be better.

I thnk maybe somethign was lost in the translation. I can almost see the idea but it's a bit foggy. Crew selection + can you manage it = ???

ivan's picture

It should maybe say: Can you manage the challenge?

i'm guessing it's a recruiting ad to work at micky d's during the olympics. but not sure.

ivan's picture

Yes, that's clearly the message to me.

i'm not sure it's that clear. maybe it's the translation.

....or would olympians actually eat trans fat globules to tinker with their gold medal chances.

Is sumo wrestling part of the winter Olympics?

i'd vote for it.

I dunno, I think it's kinda funny...emphasis on the kinda

McDonald’s ads always make me laugh. They're always trying to brand themselves as healthy and it is just the biggest joke of the freaking century. Honestly, who buys into that?

ivan's picture

Actually many buy into it. McD is now offering milk instead of coke and fruits instead of fries. They are really giving you a choice, or at least they are starting to. I'm not defending McD, but I think they are doing quite well in spite of all the negative hype around them. And, I think this is all thanks to effective advertising. It creeps into consumer's minds, and in their subconscious they reject the idea that those fries could be bad for them.

Dont like it at all. Quite simple and doesnt communicate a strong idea. Also the photomanipulation is lame (mostly in the iceskater ad)
Shame seeing someone failing to take advantage of such an open minded client.

I got that it's a recruiting ad. But the problem lies in the fact that the employees have to display tremendous sports skill in food delivery. I don't know about the McDonald's in your countries, but it's counter service here in Toronto. They don't bring your food to you. And if you have those kind of mad athletic skills, would you waste them by workign at McD's during the Olympics? And is it just a North American thing, but don't the employees share the same age range, from 15-20? This guy looks a tad out of that range.

stop italy's ad! please
