OMG. Brace yourselves! It's a turtle that can tell time!
uh mr. OMG, tone the dissing down a bit, the ad's message is "toughness", their aim is to point out similarities of "toughness" in the animal kingdom and the maxima watch. a bull, a paw (from either a bear or any large predatory feline) and a turtle's shell are some of the toughest hombres in the animal kingdom. their symbolical representations can denote strength and durability. thus a co-relation between their characteristics is not so far-fetched as you might think. man before you rush your opinion of other people's works step back a bit and think it over twice. you might have missed something, you know.
so we can avoid juvenile comments like "brace yourselves! it's a turtle that can tell time!" uh...i think we're overdoing it a bit. okay?
I have had it up to my Eye Balls with pastels and nothingness.
Brace yourselves! Adbusta is explaining this incredibly simple ad!
precisely! it's a simple enough ad that you can do away with long comments! but alas, sometimes you have to...just to clear up the air for the benefit of folks like you.
Ahem...I have some comments to make.... though I guess the situation is kinda scary now...still I'll shoot....
One tiny problem I have with this execution is: It's a Watch..that should give me perfect time...And when we think of a turtle, do we think of toughness or SLOWNESS? Is it a watch that runs slow but tough?
I can be totally wrong ( or may be not. :-| ).
Hey adbusta don't get me wrong, I just threw out my opinion.
Oh Adbusta,
All the poor souls you must save....
Do you know who you are JB? Ask your mom, provided if she knows who your father was. You Jealous Bastard...
Mo, point well taken. i concede to the comment you made. if only some of us could voice out our opinions in such a manner deserving the distinction of being called a "professional". Sadly, there are some of us are still stuck in an art school mode of mind. these people are beyond salvation. know what i mean?
ironic how you mention the 'art school mode of mind', adbusta. by the way, I'm presuming you meant 'ad school'. Have a think.
kash, I asked my mom about my dad and she said he left off to realize your mom's dream of having a normal kid.
advertising is just a parcel of art, the commercial aspect of art. when you diss an ad, in a way you are dissing a form of art. art school was what i meant by it, no error on my part. "have a think" to you too.
thanks for your definition of advertising. It was just as enlightning as your explanation about this ad.
glad to be of service. feels good to help someone wandering blindly in the dark.
terrible service I'd say. what's the use of a flashlight when there are no batteries?
with batteries like yours...well..let's just say your better off with a candle.
Oh adbusta,
Your wit is as brilliant as your grammar. It's 'you are', not 'your'. Let me give you a piece of advice, learn to spell before you give incredibly obvious insights. I know YOU ARE having a hard time trying to be smart.
terribly sorry for the oversight, thank you for helping me see the error on my part. i take your advice into consideration, if only i knew beforehand that this argument would lead to grammar and spelling (oh and by the way when you mention grammar, my friend, it is an entirely different thing from spelling, looks like somebody has to go back to school to brush up on their elementary english skills) i would have taken note of ALL your shortcomings in your aim to murder the english language. Re: the explanation for the ad, i only gave the "incredibly obvious insight" for your benefit. i mean, "brace yourselves! it's a turtle that can tell time!"? who knew you meant to be sarcastically witty...i sincerely thought you did not get the idea. silly me.
It's all right adbusta. Don't be so tough on yourself kiddo.
but pleassse...next time try dishing out remarks that can pass off as even mildly witty...ok?
this jb is a bloody mook! i bet his real name is bj. he does the blow job like a real pro! hahaha! dork.
JB stands for Jenson Button, British Formula One driver of Lucky Strike B A R Honda.
Now I know why he hates turtle so much... :p
