I got the idea and what they mean, but a customer like my mother would think, "mixed with his saliva.."?? No thanks... or choking? How about a peeled fruit?? That might work better!!

See I didn't interpret it that way.
I saw the orange piece being used as a mouth guard. He is using the fruit to help him win, for protection.
But it looks like there are many people who don't see it that way, and as they say, the proof is in the pudding.
On second look, I think the copy doesn't explain what is going on here properly.

That's a good idea but i'd be really impressed if they could have turned it into a campaign of three, with three different ideas/subject matters.

It's just plain not a good idea. We are talking food here and you have to consider how most people would react to this; whether you as the creator, thought it was a great idea or not. It seems as though there are a lot of people here turned off by this. All the creators really had to do was test this right in their own office. I'm sure similar thoughts, fears about what was wrong with this might have arisen.
