These are too forced and not emotionally engaging enough.

too forced? not emotionally?
maybe you had an even harder childhood – but i think these ads are very touching...

Agreed. I think these convey exactly what they need to.

There is no need for personal comments. Everyone is welcome to express their opinions.

For me the strategy is fine, and 'well intentioned' to quote others, below. But the creative executions seem too subtle and 'clever' to create maximum impact. This is my opinion. You may criticise it, but not me.

right... sorry for being offensive. but I can't follow you argumentation – that's what my criticism is about.
how simple do you want this ad to be?
sad looking kids… the simple punchline… and there is a memorable idea.
so it should have enough relevance for the target group.

this is the weakest excecution for me. but the campaign is fantastic. Very moving. Hits you in the right place for the right reasons.

the idea He/she only has herself"...is so generous, I think the campaign is well intended, but not fully exploited. executions could have been a lot stronger. I'm not really touched by these. the only one that I find touching is with the boy that tucks himself in bed.
too bad about the creative idea.

I was having a hard time deciding whether I like it or not. But in the end, I think I have to agree with you. It is, as you put it, very well-intentioned, no doubt about it, but the message here just feels like a big "visual pun" and that's simply where it ends.

It may be apples to oranges, but there was a suicide prevention ad on here a little while ago that (in our opinion) fell short of reaching the intended target emotionally. I believe adoption is a very serious issue as well. And there seems to be a bit of a similarity between the two in terms of how they approached the problem and decided to simply resort to a visual playfullness.
