the wrong ad in the wrong time
haven't u guys recently heard of swine flu?
outsmart me, if you can
N1H1 (swine flu) is made up of two parts swine flu, 1 part bird flu and 1 part human flue. Shall we also boycott bird and human images? :)
Ivan Raszl, admin of AotW
first of all, i didn't say boycot, i just said it's the wrong time for it, and yes, you have a point there ivan (i cant believe im talking to u) but still remember, it's called: SWINEEEEEEEEEEEEEE flu
^0^

Yes, you're right. It's the perception that matters, not just facts.

Don't back down Ivan, the man's talking absolute rubbish. A visual of three little pigs is going to stop people from buying jeans because of Swine flu? Don't be ridiculous. How did you manage to make the gigantic leap from fairytale story to fairytale pandemic?
I'll entertain this madman's notions no longer.
PS
There's nothing particularly clever about it, but I like this ad.
Hey jester, i love ur attitude, its what keeps me going but, could u help and tell why would some big stupid idiot take your stand against people's increasing hate towards swines?
put in mind im no religious sycho, im just realistic, too phucking realistic
enjoy:

The kind of people who hate pigs because of swine flu probably don't have the brains to read adverts, nor the money to buy Levi's Jeans.
i agree, they're stupid, same goes with those who just can't understand and comperhend the fact that there are people as such, people who in a stupid way hate swines cuz of swine flu... and in both sides there are people who can't buy a Levi's and there are others who would buy any cloths made by any brand

Actually in Singapore where these ads are from the govt are careful not to call it swine flu which is a misnomer. I have just reviewed a campaign about it and it is always referred to as H1N1 virus, the more accurate name. There has been no drop off in sales of pig products and nobody is panicking despite counter-measures being introduced.
If using a pig in an ad is not a problem in a country where the second largest religion is Islam, then I can't see it's a problem because of an imaginary link with H1N1. They may not run this execution in Malaysia or Indonesia, but then maybe they will.
They're good ads. You are not being 'realistic', you are seeing problems where none exist.
Dear Guest, I would fully agree with you if Singapore was a closed-minded country and not open to international media. Now, going back to what you've said, I believe this ad is the wrong ad in the wrong PLACE as well, since it targets a nation where Islam is second largest religion n we all know muzlims don't eat pork nor they like pigs pretty much like Israel where pigs are not really welcome and people there do not eat pork.

Dear Notorious,
I checked over the weekend. The video stores and book stores are still selling 'The three little pigs' in both English and Chinese (San zhi xiao zhu). The supermarkets are still selling bacon - even my local Geylang Shop n' Save which devotes 2/3 of its fridge area to halal meat still has bacon in the other 1/3. The local eateries have no shortage of pork dishes. Nor has the sky fallen - despite the outbreak of H1N1 virus.
I think the creatives involved in this excellent ad can thank their lucky stars that their client is not as anal as you and does not see problems where none exist.
luv and oinks,
Craig
Ofcourse Swine flu is not going to stop us fem having tasty bacon and watching movies where beautiful pigs show, specially the three lovely little pigs... But it WILL make people have less bacon and change preferences thats all I was saying Craig specially that there are a lot who are starting to hate pigs already. if you want to make sure, go ahead, google it.
Love and much respect..
Dave

Fact: Pork meat cost $12 pesos (less than a dollar) per kilogram, during the swine flu period in mexico. Agree, it's the perception that matters.
Think it for a while.
Then, in anytime, it will come to your mind as an idea.
Stunning campaign. Anytime.
WOW, never thought clients visit this site.
notorious is talking nonsense.
the ad was published in march 2009.
the current outbreak of swine flu was identified in april 2009.
are creatives expected to be able to guess the future these days?
Dear Guest,
have your info corrected and read this..

"I don take advertising seriously"
"I DON TAKE ADVERTISING SERIOUSLY"
I like the tonality of the ad ......where the colours are dark and even the flowers and leaves are made to look aggresive.....

Awww man. I can't believe this entire thread was about swine flu! lol
point is...it's a cool ad! I would definitely buy them for my bad ass kids :)
ivan, seriously can you stop this ridiculous debate. man, just delete off all my comments, this is getting sick and with nasty psychos and fairy guests im getting frustrated - please ivan, make sure comments are only related to artworks not other peoples comments

Well then don't start a ridiculous debate on an completely irrelevant topic, you swine-obsessed, media-led little pedant, and say something about the advert instead of posting unrelated links to cartoon characters and Government Health Warnings.
NastyJester, I don't know if you really belong to the advertising business, you are not friendly and so immature as you're also VERY PREJUDICE. I will say no more, you already showed how much hate and pride you have inside of you. I only wish you good luck.

I think this ad induce children to spend their time eating, playing games and becoming fat pigs
Come on guy's! this levi's campaing is about fairy tales and the three little pigs is one of them...and kids love these!
But a diamond and a name notoriuos, this guy is trying to be egocentric, shame on you!!
thanks to people like you, yes, I am becoming an egocentric notorious. and that won't stop until you start minding your very own business
