I agree that this is a grea idea. But, am I the only one who things that your average consumer may not take a close enough look at the threads to really make this ad as great as it can be?

But...

I don't think the reader share the same interest like me.
I remember I was flipping through the newspaper and found this beautiful print and the only reason why I was willing to spent more time looking at the details because I happen to be in advertising world.

I still love the idea, and the detail is once again...sublime, Great art direction :)

its really great. but it's a damn small details to be notice. aren't ads suppose to grab people at a glance?

I fully agree. I think that people are loving this based on the fine detail that the art director managed to pull off - and that's great - but as an effective ad, it fails. Who's going to notice this fine detail when this will probably end up being one ad of about 25 that appear in the beginning of a magazine? I've said it before and I'll say it again, advertising is not about awards - it's a tool to help businesses create revenue - trust me, no client gives a shit how many awards your ad is going to win YOU, if it doesn't win THEM any money!!
