How can such a campaign goes out with the approval from a sober marketer? This is such a back fire. I hope Canon (or some other brands) run a small ad next to it with a normal pix of a smiling girl and a headline that reads 'Canon blah blah blah. With TRUE facial recognition.'

I think most criticisms of this campaign are too literal. It's the kind of luxurious little chuckle that only the top-of-the-heap brand can afford.

My criticism of this campaign, Billo, is that it offers nothing new. In fact, it's another ..... rip off. Look up on here Viewty Smart phone via Y&R, Dubai.

I don't blame the agency though. I blame the client. Enough with this "face detecting" technology. Didn't we already move on to some other technology?

Nice execution, old concept.

Btw, this won Gold. The Playstation Wound & "Injection ads, via TBWA Spain, won Bronze in the same category. I would have given Gold to them even though I am not so keen on them.

While we agree that face detecting technology is a bit of a Who Cares?, unlike you, I have lowered "offering something new" on my list of criteria for judging ads. I see precious little that's new, and I get a little tired of going around hating everything.

I don't hate these. I wonder if Sirvan does. :)

And for me these offer nothing new. That's just my opinion. But like I said, I don't blame the agency. You can't do much with the "face recognition" brief. In any event, I don't find this campaign worthy of Gold. That's the other thing.
