Looks extremely nice, but I don't really get the point.
That's the whole point. Its for New Zealand's. L&P is a part of NZ's history, and the campaign is mocking the attitude of NZers. If you don;t get it, you ain't a kiwi
the lines suck. and the art direction is dated.
Spanky, you're a dickhead. Every comment I've ever seen from you on here is negative.
Why don't you show us some of your work? Or are you so busy criticising other people's stuff that you haven't done any decent supermarket flyers lately?
look at good ads, you'll find nice comments. look at your work, you'll find comments like this. amazing how that works.
The Cannes judges seem to like my work.
How about a link to some of your stuff?
if this is your work, you're full of shit.
No this isn't my work. And I don't think it's anywhere near Cannes standard.
But I'm not gonna waste my time criticising it when it is what it is.
But can I see some of yours please?
check one show 07 and graphis 08 if you want to see my work. and if you're going to defend work, it might help to defend something you actually like.
What I get about this campaign is that you can drink L&P with a good variety of meals ("combo") that aren´t tasty in these cases.
What I don´t get is the Retro style (Maybe they were told to show that L&P is "The Original" since 1907), and there are also some words that I don´t get clearly. (Maybe because it´s a local slang of New Zealand)
Yes these are Kiwi slang and prob too localised to be understood internationally. L&P lemonade and lard filled meat pies have an historical heritage in NZ. This was part of the stable diet in the 70's before the international fast food franchises and playstation took over. Incredibly kids didnt get fat then.
Tuck shop - School canteen
Scab - Someone who hits people up for spare change
Dole - Welfare pay day
Missus - Girlfriend or wifey.
Che che.
== Bring back fags, lard and the biff.
Thanks for the information.
I really like these, so they're localised big deal so many ads on here are mainly because you are selling to the local market. Nice campaign appeals to the target market.Good job guys.
.. so its and ad camp. for L&P?

;-P kidding..
Hillbilly finishing school :-D

Kiwis love meat pies - they are available everywhere, but mostly bakeries, which are also everywhere. All these ads are trying to do is get you to buy L&P (which is great) when you think about munching a pie. Simple.
Onya Spanky.
Love Pantywaist - love child of Spanky
Pies and L&P we're the thing back in the day. Hence the saying "Mum can't be arsed cooking ", meaning buy a L&P and a pie (combo).
L&P is celebrating 100 years (since 1907)in NZ, hence the "old" style of the ad and the kiwi slang. And pies and L&P have been around since the early 1900's.
"L&P, world famous in New Zealand since ages ago"
