Great Idea.... (If it has not been done before...) but just one question.. Im confused about the structure of the car... The trunk is in the foreground, but the light burns like a headlight... is that supposed to be that way or is it a photoshop boo-boo?

Guest's picture

Can't tell but perhaps the cover fell off and as such would shine white instead of red.

Guest's picture

Well, this was probably altered to avoid using a specific car model, which in this case is a 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle. They removed one of the bars from the cars actual tail light. Then horribly pasted a round head light on the rear panel! Great ad, horrible modifications.

Guest's picture

Ya. It's a great idea. More importantly, very well executed.

Guest's picture

"Very well executed?" Either you're Stevie Wonder or the guy who made this crap. There are two headlights "floating" on what is OBVIOUSLY the BACK end of the car.

Guest's picture

Thats' DEFINITELY the rear end of the vehicle!

It was done before, just another copy as usual coming from FP7 group... shame on you (again)!

Guest's picture

DONE BY WHOM? CAN U SEND THE LINK? DON'T BLAME THINGS FOR THE HECK OF IT. PROVE IT OR KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT.

Guest's picture

Done by Ogilvy Mexico, Dec 2006.

FP7 and copycat are almost becoming synonymous.

THANKS FOR POSTING THE LINK. BUT KOBA IS LONG LASTING BATTERIES. DURACELL SEEMS TO BE COMMUNICATING WATER RESISTANT BATTERIES.

I never really knew what a "sore loser" meant. Until I read your comment.

Our family dog has better sense of humility than you...

Please do not EVER post your caps-locked comment here again!

Guest's picture

exactly, shouting isn't going to prove your point, only emphasize you are an idiot.

It's quite surprising to hear that Duracell has car batteries!!!

Guest's picture

hey u, duracell doesn't have car batteries for ur info, update urself

Guest's picture

duracell doesn't have any car batteries, by the way ogilvy mexico had done the creative based on the position of Water resistant batteries. Fp7 oman,Fantastic work guys, finally FP7 done a fresh creative hats of to the oman guys, how come you guys not there in the DUBAI LYNIX.... ?

Guest's picture

Obviously it's not a copy, in the Duracell ad it's a Red lamp
and here it is Yellow!

Guest's picture

anther copy paste strategy............ shame on FP7

Guest's picture

I like how this execution is completely different from the last one..................way to flog a dead horse guys.

Definitely a tail light as well.

Guest's picture

Nicely executed job.the batteries got lot of features, long lasting,Maintanance free, water Resistant .etc.....But here idea is expressed in a simple manner,it cleraly shows that these batteries are long lasting,i have seen the ad which Ogilvy Mexico done, guys that ad says DEEP INSIDE, can some one can explain what it mean? that was talking about either water resistant or maintanance free...enough of enough stop blaming FP7.

2nd one... i saw the link some one had send here. An Advertising student done it long back. not even relised any where, even though ideas are totaly diffrent from here.dead body in the forest, still tourch lights are on.....ha haha haha haha hahah ha ha guys what a shame on it. duracell tourch batteries r got 12 hours life. ha ha haha ha hah . i think FP7 oman guys had done a good job. stop blaming pls getting to the reality

So then, to summarise:

1. It's a first thought.
2. It's a completely unrealistic over promise on the product benefit.
3. It's been done before (people who think that the ads are different on the premise of one saying 'works underwater' and the other saying 'longer lasting' should be more ashamed than the people who made this ad... unless... hold on a minute, do you suppose...?)
4. It's the same idea, executed the same way three times over (showing the inside light instead of the headlight does not constitute a different idea).
5. They haven't even bothered to check out which end of the car is the front, further strengthening point 2.

And on the plus side? Anyone?

Guest's picture

long lasting bulb , battery, reflector, holder, cable...................................

Guest's picture

Done trillions of time.

Guest's picture

Guto Araki's picture 158 pencils

This was done before.

Guest's picture

headlights on the rear end of the vehicle????....(big photo shop mistake.)

Guest's picture

Three of the exact same idea doesn't make a campaign. Think harder.

done many times before donckyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Guest's picture

hey guys, FP7 is now known as the agency of copycats and creative wanna bes. . .so if you have those two qualities, apply at FP7 NOW! they are in dire need of copycats. . .that's the top qualification that will earn you a spot in that wretched agency, ok?

Guest's picture

You guys are absolute idiots, everyone is watching you now, and you go and post an ad that has already been done and wih
photo-shop mistakes.

Also its embarrassing reading your guet comments over the internet, here and on other sites. You stole a concept and then fK**ed it up.

Most people wouuld have enough brains to just lay low for a while. Just look at someone who is doing that, and then do what they are doing. It houldn't be hard for you, its just a matter of copying someone else.

10 points for this well done research - so to all young creatives - there has been an advertising culture before the internet - and those legends invited advertising and dont copied them - so the research is the most importend that you can do for your work - and start the research before 2000 - and you will see that advertising in those times before were unique work

one should not take life so seriously - as one will not come out of it alive.
