very funny idea, the message gets through even if some ppl argue about details. More than that, they are wrong.
You are confusing the format (mp3) in which the music is recorded with the medium (flash drive, optical disk, magnetic tape) and the device used to playback the music (mp3 player, cd player, walkman).

I'm not sure about these different interpretations... We can't make a real comparison between a cassette, an iPod, mp3, CD, walkman... Cause we put music in the iPod, and we also put music on the cassette... So it's ok. These 2 are "Music containers". But We can listen directly music with the iPod, what we can't do with the cassette. ??????????? Anyways, the ad is cool, and it works very well.

Well...yeah, it's so damn obvious, BUT YOU AND NOBODY ELSE DID IT, THAT'S WHAT MAKES IT SO DAMN GOOD!

And yes, layout is 80s, but so are cassettes. Seems logical to me.

the idea is great, id compromise for the art for it does give you the 80's feel to it. as for the product i.e. kiss fm, i think the line explains it well 'do you remember?'

The cassette tape was once the cradle for the be-loved "mix tape" made for girlfriends/boyfriends and such, so I can understand the connection to the IPOD as the holder of today's mix tape. If you give it your best Darth Vader impression you will be more amused.
