Why is this visual concept set in a kitchen circa 1960 (other than the fridge)?

crop that terrible overcomplicated sad image in the middle, replace it with something humane and simple, and you have a 9 instead of 6 from me... after all, not everyone can improvise with their ideas
I agree. It's a good start, but needs refining.

for me it leads the attention too far away from the actual subject: the jazz festival.
I like it. It is kind of different and sort of funny. And indeed, an important feature of Jazz is improv.
