Maybe the idea was good but execution killed it.

Guest's picture

too rite! lol

dsklan's picture 1789 pencils

i like the execution!

Marlus Lau's picture 1764 pencils

Nothing new on this idea.

Guest's picture

a pear is not a vegetable

Guest's picture

Neither is a tomato!

Guest's picture

You're right, a pear is a fruit. But then again, so is an eggplant and a tomato. Actually a tomato is a berry, ginger is a tuber, and leeks are technically bulbs, botanically speaking.

Guest's picture

i just learned something new.

Guest's picture

Isn't an eggplant also considered a berry?

Guest's picture

lol

Guest's picture

Neither is a tomato and who said it all has to be vegetable's? Vegetarians eat fruit as well as vegetables. You are just an uneducated moron.

Guest's picture

well considering it's titled, "vegetables are all your body needs," ....

Jet Propulsion Lab's picture 10715 pencils

Tomato is a fruit.

No?

silvi's picture 4174 pencils

Yes. Tomato is a fruit, but a little people in the world nows it.

Guest's picture

A smart man knows it's a fruit. A wise man knows not to put it in a fruit salad

Guest's picture

Ha! Ha! Hat tip to you, Sir!

Guest's picture

Well played!

Guest's picture

There's no such thing botanically as a vegetable; it is purely a culinary term. Biologically a tomato is a fruit, but in culinary terms it is a vegetable.

oh, here's the tomato..that's why there is an apple.....scuse me....:) tomato is a fruit as same as strawberry or mellon is....but anyway we take them as vegetable.......

Guest's picture

A Strawberry is actually not a fruit.

Guest's picture

too much of ginger, one might have acidity, nice art-direction nonetheless

Plain idea. Done in some other ways.

Guest's picture

I find it hilarious that none of the vegetables pictured actually provide enough protein for survival. at least throw in some soybeans or other legumes.

I do love the design though, but I think that it kind of undermines the message.

Guest's picture

too bad people are actually made of meat. so I guess meats are all the body needs :)

Guest's picture

Too bad the body is actually made from meat.. which tells me meats are all the body needs :)

Nice one.

hey. I'm a carnivore, and I appreciated it:D

Stop Mediocrity. Start Creativity.
There are two kinds of people in the world; people who like mustangs (cool people) and people who like camaros (idiots).

Guest's picture

Actually, I'm gonna guess you're an omnivore. A human carnivore wouldn't survive for more than a couple weeks.

Guest's picture

Eggplant and zucchini, also fruits. If it has seeds: fruit.

rolling.stone's picture 2750 pencils

1. nobody eats ginger in this proportion, as shown in ad

2. this ad is made in largely non-veg eating dominated region, as well as there are not enough source of farming, so I dont understand the significance of running these ad there.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

~ Quite obviously, I have gathered no moss ! ~

Guest's picture

Don't be so literal folks. Really lol.
This is good. And I think lots of women are (or would like to be) all ginger there. lol.

Guest's picture

I love the photograpgy work, and sucks to the ad concept; it's all in context.
Maybe some capitalist agenda is all the body needs. That is in fact why the onion is making the throat- to repel the bullshit perpetualy crammed down it with sulfuric acid. Does the body good.
Plus also, who doesnt mind a well groomed fire crotch?

Guest's picture

i think it's pretty rad. it's just a shame that some people have nothing better to do than come up with stupid ways to complain about everything. it's a piece of art, not the veggie food guide pyramid. get over yourselves.

Guest's picture

I agree!

Guest's picture

Hahah its unfortunate that some don't understand the concept of the diagram. Obviously those aren't the only vegetables you would need, and by the way..look at the statistics between meat eating countries and mostly vegan countries. A.) Meat eating countries have far higher prostate cancer B.) Meat eating countries have far higher colon cancer C.) Meat eating countries have far higher ostioporosis D.) I'm not even a vegetarian or vegan, and I know this..meat just tastes to damn good to give up

Guest's picture

A tomato is both you dumbfucks. But little people in the world know it, like you judgmental idiots.

Guest's picture

who cares if its not a fucking vegetable, its not meat.. thats all the pic is trying to say.

xx

Guest's picture

great campaign - swap the apple for a tomato and voila, new ad!!!

wonderful image!
impactful and yet strangely tasteful.
Good work!

johndoughy's picture 2 pencils

I would like to point out that this picture was somewhat grotesque to me.

But I made an account to say, the thing in the mannequin's throat is a leek, not an onion. And "vegetable" is a word with no botanical or horticultural significance. A tomato is a berry and therefore a fruit, ginger is a rhizome and therefore a root, etc etc.

Really kool ... very creative

dreadboy's picture 413 pencils

Can totally agree with that. Well, I'm a vegetarian, so..
I actually like the somewhat-sketchy art direction, as in - it's speaks so much easier to the common-folk. my 2 cents

Portfolio * Myspace * Facebook
i can't even spell my name without 'ad'

Guest's picture

I think it's great that someone took the time & effort to do this. I'm disappointed that the first thing most people did when they looked at it, was to complain & pick it apart. Let's not be so picky and start appreciating people a little more.

Guest's picture

it is a great image. i like how the idea goes with the human's body.

Guest's picture

the only reason it says "vegetables" are all your body needs, is to parallel the word "vegetarian" so no need to get so picky about it

Guest's picture

I was just typing that, and then I saw that you had just above it...geeze!

Guest's picture

You're all picky, ignorant assholes. The point the ad is making is that it's made up of things that AREN'T meat. I'm a vegetarian and I eat tons of things that ARE NOT meat. Fruit is included. Sometimes I wish stupid people weren't allowed to have computers.

Created a lot of comments and that was good enough for me, any way... whats in a fruit/vegetable? All sorts of goodies for you!
Birdie the Boardie

Guest's picture

Seriously, is everyone trying to seem intelligent by knowing categories of plant foods?
If you take the categories animal, vegetable and mineral, all the pictured foods are vegetable matter. Move on to something less boring now.

One word. YUCK.

Guest's picture

Maybe vegetarians should start calling themselves "herbivores," and then nobody can bitch about fruit vs. vegetable.

Guest's picture

The ridiculous amount of ginger is off putting.

Guest's picture

I eat a pound of ginger at a time

Guest's picture

little fail with the pear...
