more onion's breath stinks, unlike the ad. pse note, ms. onion that the writer on this is a woman!! so there goes the whole sexism schpiel. plus, if you've got it, show it! well done angel, from one of your rivals

Agree here. The entire creative team on this was female. The ads display a powerful message of how proud a woman will be to show off her assets. I believe it to be a message displaying confidence and liberation.

To the other guest:

If you think a little deeper than that you'll find that women in society are reduced to their passive sexual behaviour. Liberation does not mean:
to be reduced to your body,
to be raped in the streets,
to be annoyed by random guys,
to shave your legs or otherwise be insulted,
to have to argue on websites with radom idiots who are not even willing to show their identity.

Sorry for all the others who have to read this - it's just another "guest"

@guest
I'm really glad that you're one of the advertisers who seem to be totally unable to communicate in a decent way. If it makes you feel even greater, I can pretend to be offended.

Just to get this right - sexism can also come from a woman because there are also women who are not conscious and aware of stereotypes and their consequences. I don't quite know the word "schpiel" though (if you're trying to speak german, it's spelled "spiel" and it means "game", which I wouldn't understand in this context).

Thank you for the inspiration - by the way - it's totally worth a blog entry about the role of advertisement in society...

I really, really don't want to peel away at anymore of "more onion's," multiple layers. How the F*&% did rape, shaving of legs and being annoyed by men creep into commentary regarding an ad that shows a product CALLED "FIRMING NECK & BUST?!?" Surely the target market is WOMEN and the ad was done for these WOMEN who ACTUALLY DO SHAVE THEIR LEGS & CARE ABOUT THEIR APPEARANCE(!!!), by WOMEN WHO ACTUALLY DO CARE ABOUT & MAKE GREAT ADS! And, I'm afraid people like me will have to remain anonymous guests while gung-ho, hairy and probably butt-heinous slags like more onion roam this earth, dragging their ad crushing clubs behind them. The ad, by the way, gets a 9 from me.

methinks, more onion works on thrush ointments or other "more important" female creams and products? that or a petroleum account, like diesel?

It's the photographer who gets all the credit, you fool, not the women team who worked on this campaign. Love this work. More boobs, busts and bums please. Advertising gotta be appealing. Ha.

very sad that women still are displayed as sexobjects
"yeah show your breats to others, be proud of your body" stupid, no dignity ,no value and absolutely no beauty

Guest's picture

Aside from all other things that one might get out of this. It IS and ad for "Breast and Neck treatment". Thus, Breasts and necks might just be seen as pertinent elements in the composition.

Or did most of the people here miss that.

Do I think it could have been executed more elegantly and poignantly. Oh yes, very much.

. . .

As to whether or not this enforces sexism. The bridal dress does that far more than the display of nude flesh.
Nudity ≠ "sex object".

. . .

I say fair effort. But definitely needs to be rethought and re-designed.

I personally think sex was't the idea of this ad at all!!!!

It is not icky or makes me as a woman uncomfortable.

It is simply not portraid in such a way.

It is a very good, striking ad.

They knew while publishing this that they would get negative feedback, but that only makes the product more popular so.....well done!
