there's an arm in the ad because the trick in the title is attached to it. without the arm, it's meaningless. actually i think you don't need the shadow in this add. trying to change the original work a little bit made this ad hmm.. too much.
I think both your ideas are a little forced.
The shadow makes it confusing.
Why would you have the shadow? It's almost as if the other ad's been referenced.
Looks like a toy, and yes, the shadow isn't saying anything.
