Damn I hate ads like this! (And so does my boss Larry.) Yet another reason not to post student work among the real ads. What beer drinker/consumer is going to sit here and read all this copy? They're busy drinking beer -- which means they're too drunk to read. What do you think you're selling, a fifty year old bottle of wine owned by JFK? Ads like this are done for the ad community, not for real consumers. No real beer client in the world would run this long-winded ad. There might be a great idea here (I don't know, I didn't read it), but me and most real life consumers would never know because we're turned off by all the copy. Next page please.

dude, before you nag, maybe you should read it first. I don't like long copy either but i loved reading this. I am a beer drinker and this ad targets me, and i read it, laughed and forwarded the link to my buddies and they loved it as well. I dunno why you're complaining. Besides, it would be a great urinal ad, They always read those, it's in your face. GREAT JOB, I LOVE THIS AD.

Duder,
Like, I didn't realize I was "nagging" you. And guess what? I don't care! My words were not meant to nag you or please you. I simply expressed my opinion. Same as you did. Except somehow, MY opinion got labeled by YOU as nagging and complaining. FYI, I do not have to read the ad if I don't want to. I saw something that for my own personal reasons turned me off, so I did not bother. End of story. And believe it or not, I’m well within my rights to do so. That is MY choice as a consumer, just like it was YOUR choice to read it, like it, and forward it. Also, I'm a beer drinker and this ad targets me as well. So my opinion as a beer drinker counts just as much as yours. (But unlike you, notice how I did not imply my opinion was more important or more valid than yours.) So here's a tip for the future...don't try to convince me or anyone else here to think what you think and come over to your side. It's a waste of time and it rarely happens. Just post your thoughts without trying to take shots at me or marginalizing the opinion of others. I’m not trying to get in a debate with you. (A debate you would surely lose by the way.) And I'm certainly not going to get into it with a student who hasn’t even started his internship, much less held a real job in the Ad business for any amount of time. (clearly those are the credentials of someone who knows what he’s talking about, huh?) Given your limited experience, you should probably do more observing here than posting of your opinions. But when you do post, you probably want to avoid “dissing” the opinions of others young grasshopper. Especially those with infinitely more experience than you. My opinion was based on the REAL WORLD application of a fake ad. Not how students and ad junkies would react to the ad. It was based on how REAL target consumers would respond when they saw this amount of copy and all the lines and paths all over the page they were expected to follow. And it is my belief that they would not waste time reading it. And I KNOW I’m not alone it that opinion. Again, I want to thank you for making my point about mixing the student ads with the real ads. You guys make ads and view ads in a totally different light from people who do this for a living. A colored light that is not cast fully in the real world. Lastly, you may want to consider a visit to a urologist if you're at a urinal long enough to read all the copy in the above ad. Because if you can, you’ve definitely got a situation going on down there that needs some medical attention. Good luck with the internship.....young grasshopper.
