Good Hope FM: Bulb

Good Hope FM: Bulb

You're not the only one getting wasted on tik.
Smoking tik while pregnant is 4 times more likely to cause birth defects.

Tik is the South African word for methamphetamine. It’s commonly smoked by placing meth crystals in a light bulb from which the metal threading has been removed. A lighter is used to heat the bulb and as the heat spreads through the thin glass, the crystals make a ticking, popping sound. Users named the drug ‘tik’ after this ticking sound. It’s spelled phonetically.

Nice work.

A friend

Nasty!

Simple idea done well.

BUGGERS

I really like this one.

I mean I Really Really like this one.

Understated and effective.

Bravo

wow! beautiful, incredable, amazing!

I like this one a LOT!
I'm just SO glad that they didn't use the smoke (vapor in this case) to form a human embryo in there.
Nicely done.

Yea, this is very well done. A true gem. In an industry where manipulating images and making one thing appear to be something else is becoming the norm, it's nice to see work like this - perfectly executed without looking forced at all.

Ah, this one is very clever and very catching. I like it.

Its not clever...similar ads have been done....

There Is New Shit Under The Sun. There are still BigBadFatMadafaka ideas.

So, what's your BBFMFing clever idea?

>>>> That's not an ad. THIS is an ad.

Have they?

Where did you see these similar ads?

If you've seen a similar ad then say what it was, if you can't do that then please shut the food hole.

bigbadfatmadafaka. How come I'm not as cool as you? I've shaved the top of my head to give myself a 'widows peak' while at the same time growing my hair at the back to form a bitchin' ponytail. You know, business up front, party at the back.

I've stopped shaving and have mustered up a whispey pube 'tash.

I ate my weight in cheese.

And even engaged in some of your more "speciality" erotic practices and still I'm not as cool as you.

Where am I going wrong?

You have all the answers and you have to tell me or I think that this all over tanning lotion, which I've been using to conceal to impending dose of jaundice, is going to reduce my sperm count to below 5.

Help me bigbadfatmadafaka. you're my only hope......my only hope...only hopebzzz...zzzzbzzz

Hey! where'd she go, bring her back, right now.

aaaaaand scene.

Tick.

Sure. I'll be friends with you, MadaFaka.
Sounds like you need one. ;D

Is there ANYTHING you DO like?? This is one s#1t-hot ad. Everyone so far has praised it, and you come in with the same bland commentary that you post everywhere.
Grow up.

(not you Rog. Him ^)

;)

Great art direction.

This ad is amazing, one of the best I've seen in a long time. At first I only saw the pregnant belly shape and then it hit* me! That's also a lightbulb for melting meth!

Very VERY nice ad.

*that point when it hits, when you fully SEE the idea - is better than Meth.

You don't melt it. You cook it.

wow...i really like this campaign! Art directed like a dream and im sure it works well to convey the message too. lovely.... :)

amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!! i love the artdirection!!!!!!

Sarcastic comment here: What I like most is the description of how to smoke Metamphetamine that comes with the ad! :)

Proper comment here: What I will add is that using something to show pregnancy isn't anything new. That sounds like one of those comments, but what I'm pointing out is that while the visual idea isn't new, the execution of the idea is new. For that reason it should definitely continue to be celebrated and applauded.

first a word to BBFMF: speak up ONLY when you have something reasonable to say.

now my comment. lovely ad; nice art direction. was just wondering if it wouldn't have been nice if we didn't see too much of the neck of the bulb. would have looked much more like a tummy the. right now it looks more like a "bulbish" breast.

i was made africa, and so i am

Excellent typography.

I come from Cape Town, where the ad was produced. It's not pronounced TICK but T-UH-K. And it is a serious problem over here. Its destroying many teens lives. The emphasis is on the fact that our teens are our future, and the fact that many of them are smoking tik its sad. Also, the young girls are pregnant too, just like actual parents who are also on the drug. Its a sad case. Im glad to see someone sees the problem too.
Goodhope FM is the top teen-choice radio station so its good to see them doing something.
Great piece of work guys.

To write is to be the PUPPET MASTER of the brainless sheep.

What is tik?

Is it like weed?

Just wondering cos I used to live in Newcastle, down south of the border in England, and whenever I bought weed they called it 'tak', e.g; 'How man, div ye want to smurk sum tak?'

So 'tak' and 'tik', just wondering if they were both 'street' words for weed?

-----------------------------
It's only an ad.

Beautifully crafted work! A definite winner
