Not the best way to get the target audience they're going for. In fact, it's possibly the worst way they could have gone about it. Unless they're going after masochists, never insult a possible customer. This art director ought to be told he's a pathetic waste of white space and couldn't lay out a Help Wanted flier if his life depended on it and see how he feels. Even if he's a decent designer, it's still not going to make him feel good. This campaign is pathetic and a failure. The only client base they're going to draw in are buff gym-goers that already have memberships. This will not draw in a new crowd. It's far more likely to alienate then it is to draw loyalty.
