The neon is a decent idea, but why are they advertising human food?

Possibly because people can relate to it more.

Hmmm. It's still a little bit of a disconnect.

It looks good but it's very stupid.

Why is it stupid? It's a lure, a fishing product. People may just wonder why the lure is bright neon (fishermen know). Bright color means that fish will quickly spot the lure, especially in dark muddy waters, and strike it.

With regard to the "human food" being advertised; it's just a joke.

By the way, the Art Directors of the Year award, at the 2010 ADDY® Awards in Metro Phoenix, went to Stewart West and John Johnson from TunnelBravo for this campaign.

I love the art direction, so I am not surprised the guys got the award. 9 stars!

Dear atb2005,

Could you please teach us all about colors and jokes? Seems very interesting.

ADDY Awards? Never heard of... I'm more familiar with pencils and lions.

You can stop being an ass, dude. You've been reported to Ivan. You don't have to know about EVERYTHING, and when you don't know about something, you learn about it or you just shut up. What I said about light and color, with regard to lures, is scientifically true. I also said it because some people may think that neon is being used here only artistically. There is NOTHING wrong with sharing of useful information. You clearly thought it was stupid because you had no idea what it was about!

The ADDY® Awards are the world's largest advertising competition, with OVER 60,000 entries per yeah. They are conducted by the American Advertising Federation. I am not going to say more, because you have a serious problem with people knowing MORE than you do.

Dear atb2005,

Thank you for enlightening my thoughts and for getting me situated on the "american" industry awards scenario.

PS: Don't worry, I won't report to Ivan you called me an a...

The lures can't be appetizing, is what you put on them that might be. Not good for me.

I like it, maybe it would be more funnier with not human food, but fishfood. atb2005's explanation seems useful & profitable since talkingisfree still doesn't understand what could be attractive or 'appetizing' in a lurk for a fish.
