"Bright ideas bring better results"

For Macedonia is smart, but this trick has been done since the 80s.

Guest's picture

what do you mean for macedonia is smart? Do u even now where macedonia is? What kind of statement is that?
Its either good or not good. For Macedonia is smart???? U prick.

Juan Cabral's picture 719 pencils

Hello my friend,
Remember what´s written: "Be respectful".

I know where Macedonia, the country, is. I know even where Macedonia, the Greek state, is. I know that Macedonia won a gold Cannes lion this year.

What I meant is, for a country, with 2 million people, and with almost no advertising history, this idea is smart. Nothing against the people, pal. Italian are very clever and creative people, but look at the ads they do...

Haha, true. I've seen some really terrible ads from Italy up on this site. Had no idea they were known for that.

Anyway, regardless of whether this idea was done before, I'm not really getting the point of having the copy laid out the way it is.

It's difficult to follow and gets annoying halfway through. This is the kind of ad one would overlook because it takes too much effort to read and figure out what its for.

Guest's picture

Funny AmOgodzz. Are you joking? Or have you eventually figured out why the copy is laid out the way it is?

AmOgodzzz's picture 501 pencils

The copy is laid out the way it is so it can annoy anyone who tries to read it? I love when the person who created the ad leaves comments as a guest trying to defend it.

Yes, I know its supposed to be reminiscent of the trajectory of someone running laps or doing suicide drills. But I still don't understand why they thought this layout would be a good idea.

gmint7's picture 2084 pencils

trajectory?

you got it so wrong buddy. now i see why it annoys you.

:::J:::

gmint7's picture 2084 pencils

I think he misread it as
"Macedonia is smart"

instead of

"For Macedonia... "

Guest's picture

Even thought the concept isn't new, but the reverse text is always a good and interesting idea; it catches the attention of the reader and delivers the message in a smooth and effective manner.
I also like so much the Lost Generation script. Check this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4koRmd_68c

I saw a similar thing before. It wasn't an ad. It was more like an internet joke. I guess they took the idea from it. Still interesting.

It's been a long while since I have seen a really good ad. And for the ones who think this ad has been done before, may I suggest, you guys post a link or something, instead of just blabbering? And if by a remote chance this idea was done before, shall I ask you a question? It is said that there are five people in the world who looks similar to each one of us. What say you to that?

adabortion's picture 559 pencils

AmOgodzz, why are you so dumb? I really feel so sorry for you and you are beginning to affect some people here. Think before you make a comment on any work!

Guest's picture

@adabortion, your name really says it all. You've said earlier that you've been in the industry for 12 years but the most recent work you posted on the forum is laughable at best. Give it up, loser.

I can assure you that I'm not dumb at all. I think we're all entitled to have our own opinions on the work posted on this site, whether or not you agree with them. I'm sorry that your life sucks so much that you find it necessary to express your anger and frustration anonymously on the internet and lash out against young people trying to hone their skills and build their portfolios. Very sad. Seek help.

I wish we talk about results of the campaign to the client more than how original and creative is.
How many potential customers will actually stop turning the pages, read this and actually take an action or remember the name after 2 seconds?

NONE

adabortion's picture 559 pencils

Thanks for your feedback AmOgodzz, I'm sure you'll go a long, long way! In advertising I hope.

Guest's picture

That wasn't feedback. I was insulting you in response to your previous comment. How dense are you? I'll probably go farther than you ever have in advertising or any other field I try my hand at with relative ease. That chip on your shoulder must be getting heavy. We're done here. I'll leave you alone to wallow in your mediocrity now.
