So this guitar is only cool if you compare it to the 1950's? It makes the telecaster seem geriatric. Telecasters are still cool and I don't need the 50's as a comparative device for me to know that.
I think we witness some very cool art direction here. Regarding the idea, I think the 50's means some brand foundation for Fender. So, I'll rather take it as a great idea.
The design is marvelous.

Fender rocks. Tele's aren't as good as strats, but better than les paul.
