i really don't think it's easy and low, i think it's a natural way to go if you want or need to.
expresso must have something interesting to say of course, and precisely that's why they can "afford" to do this kind of ad. i'm not in spain but i guess.

It´s easy, it´s an isolated idea. How is the rest of this campaign? can you do another execution for this concept?
No you can´t that´s why this is an easy idea, a visual pun, there is no strong thinking behind, just a "one hit" without sequence or consequence.

It´s a lot harder to create a great concept and execute it through time, I tell you that. Take "The Economist" for example.

i must agree with you in this one.
i like the ad but agree, this is an execution, not a strong concept. it's "hit and run".

and of courssssssse... the economist example is great and very true.
as i said, i still like the ad, not always we will see strong concepts with a lot of mileage, sometimes it's ok to do "hit and runs".

It's an advertising for a newspaper, it's suposed to say that they are better than the competition! Do you get the concept of advertising? Branding your product over an other.

Making a brand it´s not about your competition it´s about creating a great concept.
Tell me, Do you know what is the competition of "The Economist" or "Guiness"?
Nobody knows, nobody cares, they have a great concept and that´s all.
