Obvious... sometimes a little too obvious, even for an ad like this...

i don't think it's obvious at first glance. it's obvious once you get it, though. i like it!

I'm afraid I don't get it. Is it an advertising 'in joke'?

;-(

it's something that exists in every language (as far as I know) - a sentence that has all the letters of the alphabet in it.
for English it's something like "a fox jumps over a dog" (google for the exact sentence, I'm too lazy and forgetful).

Ah I see, I've not studied English since I was 17.

still without a point or idea, i dont see where they tell you about this 'idea' of whole alphabetics exists in this image (i can do 1.000 lines for this image, and the short one dont have whole letters and, obvious, dont need too much typographic: 'fox and dog'), very bad ad.

you just don't get it because it's not for you.
face it, you're not the TA.
else you would come up with the sentence in zero secs, mate.

indeed, as was the case for me; didn't get it, but then it wasn't aimed at me.

Which actually makes it more succesful 'cos the TA feel they are in on the joke!

i ditto that, andy.

Qute! I love it!!

MADVERTISING - tales from a very strange industry

I like the concept but not the graphic style...it's nice but too much classic...

I like the idea. AD could have been more typographic since it's promoting a typography workshop.

Actually this ad says everything... only for them who know that.... and also it is not for them who don't know that. coz they are not going to purchase the product. First time I felt something which justifies itself.

explanation: open MS Word. type: =rand()
press enter.
it will write: The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.
The sentence is a panagram, covering all the letters in the english alphabet.

hahaha

in my german word, it reads: "Franz jagt im komplett verwahrlosten Taxi quer durch Bayern."

добро пожаловать и наслаждается!

hahaha.
you're such a funny person.
what does it mean? wait, i don't wanna know.
btw- why do you have german word, russkie?

work in germany.

it calls our memory about typography, i think this poster works for graphic designer ^_^

Does it work for mac?

of course it does, silly.
this sentence's got nothing to do with ibm/pc

'The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog' is the text sample that appears on almost any Windows application to show fonts. It's used because the phrase contains all the letters of the alphabet, silly.

But I don't quite remember if it appears on mac applications. Anyway, anyone that uses a computer will get the joke.

It's not Windows specific. It's a sentence used to showcase all letters of a typeface. Check it it has all the letters of the alphabet.

Thanks, I know. In spanish (my natural language) the panagram is 'El veloz murciélago hindú comía feliz cardillo y kiwi' which translates as 'The quick indian bat was happily eating cardillo and kiwi'.

Nice. Thanks!

Great ad,only the dog should have been smaller cos it is The Quick Brown Fox Jumps Over The Lazy Little Dog
