Cricketer's Arms Lager

Retiring Hurt, Pitch Maintenance

Agency: DDB

Description

According to DDB, Melbourne, The world would be a better place if more countries played cricket. Because when you take a close look at the game's 42 Laws laid down in 1788, it's obvious the good men of the MCC intended cricket to be much more than an excuse for blokes to throw a ball at each other and get sunburnt on a Saturday afternoon. Cricket is a game that teaches young men how to be gentlemen. Indeed, its laws read like a master class in the rules of civil society. A code that was essential in a time when men ran everything. But just as important probably more so now the boundaries are much less well defined. The rewriting of the MCC's 42 Articles for Cricketers Arms Lager was inspired by our Dads and the blokes they played cricket with; Australian men who applied the game's spirit of decency, fair play and the regular need to laugh at yourself to every aspect of their lives.

This professional campaign titled 'Retiring Hurt, Pitch Maintenance' was published in Australia in January, 2012. It was created for the brand: Cricketer's Arms Lager, by ad agency: DDB.
