Great.
notice the left finger???? giving a birdie.
true! he's like "damn photographer, leave me alone, can't you see i'm busy?"
This could have worked with the same dude in the same pose, but at home wearing an old worn Woodstock t-shirt. The lighter still lit.
another dumb idea.
That was kind of my point
Extra long lasting acid!!!
just a reply to myself, the holding up a lighter thing at concerts began no more than 20 years ago maybe. In 1969 were there disposable lighters? I don't think so. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Zippo
Flippo
.........what? I thought we were just saying words.
Not disposalble.
ups! so you´re right! Maybe the 1999 woodstock!
This info is from their website http://www.cricketlighters.com/
- "The history of Cricket goes back to 1961. Cricket was the first disposable lighter brand in the world."
This idea was done many times before.
Ok guys, meet me after a few days with a better idea. This meeting is cancelled.
yeah, the drugs do work... probably this ad will too.
nothing new, reminds me in paricular of this one:
http://adsoftheworld.com/media/print/bic_lady
addy, that's his girlfiend she left him for jimi. so waited and waited and waited till now.
addy, thats the first thing i thought of as well.
and bic did it better.
I dont get how the both are even close...
The only similarity I can see is that both products are supposedly Long-lasting....
does that make it similar?
I dont think its fair to compare them at all..!
same atmosfear(?). They both feature an old fan/biiiigfan who are still mesmerizing over things that are in the past and theire 'longlasting' object is helping them with that
his finger is burned out
i had bad experience that my finger was burnt when using lighter for a long time.
so, long lasting lighter remind me the pain.
this idea, for me can be push up more.

Funny but already seen. Bic, for example...
that guy actually looks like the art director for this one.
i think it's him...
добро пожаловать и наслаждается!
The Prozac Republic®
what is very long lasting? the old man?
doesn't the '69. A "Woodstock" banner would be more effective. Let the audience uncover as opposed to smacking them with it.
the lighter! not the man....
nice piece of art
For me the ad is quite crystal clear.
To the comment about BIC all I can say is, do you compare benifits like "really fast cars" and say, 'oh this BMW ad has been done before, Lamborghini did a fast car ad too! therefor it's the same idea. Fucking nonsense.
I mean a longlasting pen isn't a longlasting lighter. Wise up.
this scheme has been done again and again, open your eyes and you will find countless ads like this.
i never said it was the "same". and i never said it's bad, complicated or unclear.
in fact i said it works. most people who see this ad wouldn't give a damn about how often it has been done and most probably even like it. but this is a site about ads and discussing ads so i think it's ok to compare it to similar concepts.
I disagree with you. This ad is the same as the bic one. Old people with the thing they got 20 years ago and is still there. In this case a lighter in the other case an autograph. Sorry but is the same idea. But, dont be sad yet. Since you did copy you deserve 4 internets!!!!! Isn't it great to be alive these days?
Using photography has been done before. And so has using people in ads. Done to bloody death.
Beards, sunglasses and fences have all been done before too.
Can't anyone do anything original in advertising these days?
(By the I like this ad. Good job King)
at least i agree with you that the "really fast cars" comparison is "fucking nonsense".
yes, its exactly the same as BIC.
"hey, the brief says it lasts long"
"cool, lets put an old person in it, still using the product"
same same.
an ordinary AD!
I like this ad - the SMP obviously said something like "longer lasting lighters". Brief answered in a nice humorous way.
Yes but like Jenny said, it could have had a deeper thought to it, like her experience. Longer lasting doesn't always have to use a time difference to express an idea.
Groovy.
Especially for 'party' cones.
make me smile~~
All the while i though this was a native american...i am getting old
