The American flag is suffering from gravity - on the moon!
The moon does have a gravitational pull, everything does. It is simply much less than Earth's, I believe in the 1/6th range. So the flag would be pulled by gravity just not at the strength it would on earth.

This is a great ad actually. It reminds a 50 year old joke made by an american scientist. When asked by journalists : "What will we find on the moon", he answered laughing "The Russians". Place this ad into the 60s context, you'll see that americans where far behing at first. Both campaign and ads are great to me !
Not quite the punch of JFK or 9/11 but still good.
