Qu'est que ce?

The Soviets were unable to launch a successful moon shot - what is the Courrier trying to say? Or did they mean to put an Islamic flag in the scene?

that's the flag of China.....

Um...no. That's the flag of the Soviet Union. China's flag doesn't have a hammer and sickle.

Houston, we've got a problem...

Anyone who reads Courrier International might have recognized their famous "yellow corporate identity" and their brand new Maiandra-like logo typeface.

Wow this agency or company really does not like America or American History.

...Or they have a sense of humor. Some folks do.

The American flag is suffering from gravity - on the moon!

The moon does have a gravitational pull, everything does. It is simply much less than Earth's, I believe in the 1/6th range. So the flag would be pulled by gravity just not at the strength it would on earth.

This is a great ad actually. It reminds a 50 year old joke made by an american scientist. When asked by journalists : "What will we find on the moon", he answered laughing "The Russians". Place this ad into the 60s context, you'll see that americans where far behing at first. Both campaign and ads are great to me !
