Wow! This is like the 10th time an exhibition forum topic idea ends up as a campaign that is submitted to the front page and awards.

ivan, you know these so called "creatives" check this website: http://adsoftheworld.com for ideas then they sand bag it till next year.

i don't think this is right, coz the celotape has its stickiness in the opposite direction(inside not on its surface).
as they are talking about the grip i.e stickiness on its surface. sorry, doesn't work for me.

harshik, no. i think it's suppose to be just concept. don't take it literary. besides if you really think about it if you pull a strip, don't you want the sticky side to be sticking on the wheel otherwise you won't go anywhere if it's the other way around.

happy 2008!

ya but the point of the ad is that the tires have good traction on the road, so the stickiness should be on the side of the tire grip.

that was just an opinion. happy new year

if anyone has the urge to see a link, i can look for it, don´t worry, i didn´t do it now because i think most people know what i´m talking about (and i´m lazy).

At that point I don't know what to say...
The fact that it was awarded "bronze" at the latest EPICA is depressing!

It's okay as an idea, but...
I'm surprised that a tyre brand in 2007 is till flogging that old brief.

>>>> That's not an ad. THIS is an ad.

If tread comes OFF a tyre is'nt it a bad thing?
Just my first thought.

My first thought was also the 'wrong' sticky side. But who says the sticky side can't be the one on the surface? Using a tape dispenser as visual makes the idea and proposition very clear. Which side the sticky side is, isn't that important I think. On the other side, with this kind of dispenser, the tyre would get stuck.... not if the tyre wouldn't make contact with the dispenser... but that would be an unnecessary complification... Just saying... do we really have to think that deep about an ad like this. It's not that it's telling us completely wrong things about the product, is it?

agree wid capy!!!!

this is about recycling tyres?
they take the old tyres and make "new" one?

just kidding, course.
i just dont think this will sell more tyres...

Done in 1990 by the Campaign Palace, Melbourne.

Hot damn! That's like stealing candy from gramps hahaha

lol

still thinking this ad can not rise sells of tyres...
no matter if was done or not, is not good to conquer consumers...
just my opinion

now that's a tape dispenser in which the tape wouldn't get stuck if the sticky side was on the surface ;))
