No offense but you are one of the many "photoshop experts" on this site who can't get beyond terminology like "dodgy", "shabby", "poor", "terrible", etc.
Could you be so kind to explain why you ask whether this is dodgy? What do you think it is that makes it dodgy?

i believe many of the posters in this site are people that work in the advertising medium, and i'm sure many are art directors, so obviously, they can tell with what s good or "dodgy", "shabby" or "poor" photoshop work. i'm not saying that they're always righ, but at least the have the criteria to tell (i'd like to think so, at least).

Good point, that's what I want to believe as well, but on checking those people they turn out to be web designers, school kids, etc who have never done a campaign in their career but seem to know all about Photoshop.
If I was a junior I wouldn't learn one bit from these comments.

Great idea although I think the execution is a bit poor. The photography is really good but shouldn't this be a bit more of a happy situation? You can go on with a flat tyre, that is a very happy moment!

that's harsh. does photoshop alone make a good ad? granted the art could have been much better here, but this isn't an ad bereft of an idea. this is certainly a good ad. http://upthechimney.blogspot.com

How is it that web designers believe they have the skills to warrant criticise a Photographer's and Art Director's skills at shaping light and creating something out of nothing when all you do is stick to tired layouts and grids? Perhaps the exact reaction you wanted was for people to view your link and your work but when it ends with them being far from impressed at your skills I believe it has backfired.

Nah a lot more thought could have gone into it. Using a tyre to demonstrate a tyre isn't that creative.

Creativity is simplicity. I think it is creative. Yeah, execution is poor but i like it!

Don't let em trick you into liking it!
BTW, ADDT Lisboa did a very similar thang for IBM a couple of years ago.

Don't be pathetic. If you have no proof, keep it to yourself. I for one know this concept from the agency was created a long while ago.

same goes here.. although the execution is weak, the idea is good!

* it's not how good you are. it's how good you want it to be *

Others have seen what is and asked why. I have seen what could be and asked why not.

it's a good idea, but the execution is pretty poor. the problem is bigger in terms of art direction than in photoshop.

Yer ok I agree I should have said the execution is poor. The idea could have gone somewhere but I just think it missed it.
