the concept is good, the photography and art direction awful.

They've made a simple joke about seeing things as better than they are, and tied it to a client product.

Doesn't rock the boat or create new forms, for sure, and it's like a lot of what's out there in the soft-sell, feel-good environment of women's magazines in which this ad is probably meant to be placed.

In other words, status quo, not awful.
