I love the style of the illustrations. This is the best one of the three.

Love these. Very nice illustrations. Were they ads with the side-by-side like that, or single cards?
A "new" twist on one of the oldest visual tricks in the world. Actually, really not much of a twist at all, but marginally interesting to look at.
I'm guessing these are spread ads. Client could've saved half of their media spending by opting for a page layout (left side ad) and thus turning it into an "interactive" print ad. Although, THAT gimmick is no longer considered new, either. So, what we're looking at here is neither fresh nor creative. It simply "appears" that way. Is that a fair assessment? Or am I being too harsh?
spread ads?
oh. i thought these were just posted this way so we don't have to turn our screens upside down.
maybe these are a lttle bit too psychedelic for a over-the-counter-drug though...

Two pages side by side, that's a spread layout. I'm only commenting on an ad the way it's presented to us.
But you're probably right.
i know what a spread ad is :) but i was wondering if you were right.
anyone who knows if these are spread ads?

done so often, but like djakuza, I have to admit the look of these stop me...even if just for 2 seconds...
May not be original but has impact. Nice pickies.
I totally agree. Not original but it illustrates how quick the stuff works. Good job on idea and illustrations

Work harder,... now i'm gonna get my mango juice!
These do look good, and although the technique has been used before, it still has impact, so it's a good-un.
7.9/10
Doin' it for the points
HA HA. This you give 7.9? You really have no clue how to judge do you? Yes, yes awaiting comments about my mother being a whore, blah blah, suck my you know blah blah.
That's why I'm not a judge.
I take part.
What do you do?
p.s
You shouldn't speak about your mum like that, street walker is the proper way to refer to her infested meat gash.
Doin' it for the points
Actually, screw you.
I thought it was a good series and defend the 7.9, with a swift bunch of fives to your beer hole.
Eat cyber-fist.....you're thinking of porn now aren't you?
philistine.
Doin' it for the points
You admit that it's been done, and then stand by your points. Interesting. As I noted before, everything you give 4/10 usually gets a finalist or better, so yes, I think you are a bad judge of ads. Sorry, but the proof is in your own scoring method. And no, I won't be insulting you beyond that, it's beneath me.
"The Technique", the technique has been used before. You're an imbecile.
I'm talking about how well an ad serves it's purpose, not whether it looks sexy enough to win an award.
Doin' it for the points
I'm sorry, didn't realise this was a site for the effies. Thought it was a show case for ads we think are exceptional and stand out in our creative community. If not, what is your points system rated on? And the fact that the 'technique' has been used means it's not ever going to be orginal, is it? All these questions and no answers.
I just said what I base my "point system" on. Whether the ad serves it's purpose. I know it's not Afrikaans or whatever but I thought I'd said this already.
Photography is a technique. Used a lot. But sometimes someone uses it in an interesting or effective way. Making that piece original.
I shouldn't really have to go further to show how stupid you are.
Doin' it for the points
Clearly you don't do work for awards. Marks more likely. Tell your lecturer you're getting there. And good luck with your final exams... next year.
Two this year.
nuff said.
Doin' it for the points
And your name is?
Fuck You, that's my name.
One of them's been on this site.
c'mon, chase me.
Doin' it for the points
Ah, so you do care. The truth at last. Well, well done. So all that crap about whether it works, is not as important as telling me that. 4 myself this year. Three London finalist, One show finalist. Not that amazing, but I feel I have to say to qualify my statements. My g'friend however got everything in the book. Now we've established you care, your scoring is still crap because of the previous comments made. Good luck.

Dave
So applying your logic. To get an award is the same as doing work specifically for that purpose.
Not warped at all.
Kudos on the shiny award work. How long have you been doing this?
I'm just asking because after all this time, your view of the industry is narrow and bleak (figuratively. I'm sure the silverware is sparkly enough). To have as your "killer rebuttal" the news that you and your same sex life partner (don't lie, you're amongst friends) have won loads of awards, to back up the drivel that awards reflect the efficiency of an ad is lame dude.
Real lame.

Doin' it for the points
not sure i get the point of these. how were they executed? i feel like i'm missing something.
I think it's unnecessary to use 2 pics. You've already flipped the logo and product upside-down anyway, people will flip it to read and see the result. That's the beauty of ambigram.
that would make it better for me. i wasn't understanding why the 2 pages were side by side.
How about this yo?
