I was so waiting when will the first ad come out with 9/11 imagery. It's a senstive issue, but time heals everything.

I remember doing an illustration for an article and wondering if people will slam me for it.

this is great. good work and good art direction

not so nice

thats not nice, and would never been aproved..
3000 people died my friend.. how you think americans will look at this ?

Impressively art directed. I'm also amazed that such a simple line would and visual would hit such a key. With that said, this ad could have been done with avoiding the twin towers. Just the thought of the cicuit as a city is great.

>Just the thought of the cicuit as a city is great.

Yes, true.

Nice idea! I like it the fact it struck you instantly...like most ads should and not cliche. Such an idea is well thought of and give immediate awareness to consumer. Lovely!!!

The thought's good...the layout's good...the line's simple (n good)...borders on hurting some sensitivities...but overall - good...maybe the prop used could've been better designed.

i love it. very funny ad. and don't worry about americans. they'll take it with a smile on their faces. why shouldnt they? their stand up comedians are known for making brutal fun of every tragedy in the world.

While i admire the art and concept of this ad, and i understand your point, it is a rather large generalization of Americans.

Yes, some of us are known for 'making brutal fun of every tragedy in the world' but that is certainly not appealing to all of us, and though it is said by some to help in acceptance and healing i personally have never found that sort of thing in good taste.

I also recognise the truth of this ad, knowing by experience how insecure most computers are, usually due to the lack of knowledge on the user's part, it may be very beneficial for the more 'nerdy' community to make itself more available to 'non-nerdy' people to help with this problem.

"Just the thought of the cicuit as a city is great." i also agree with this..
but this is common thought. Common man also can think & feel cicuit as Industrial Look.

i think its brilliant. so simple and clean. why should 9-11 be so taboo?

As an American I have one thing to say about this ad:
awesome.

Besides, everyone knows Americans don't have souls!

Yeah, you're probably not going to get a lot of positive responses from anyone in the U.S., but you would definitely get some (negative) publicity..then again they just showed United93..

I think its very powerful and innovative. The image could have been made a bit better although clearly a lot of work has gone into it. Im not particularly familiar with the area enough to tell how good a replica it is.

Anyway, the only problem I have is that people act like The World Trade Centre bombings was the first ever terrorist attack. This could have been done a thousand other ways, I just wish other tragedies werent simply dropped just because for a change the rich were hurt.

I'm all for the imagery - well thought out, with a great application of semiotics.

I can't understand why so many people find the 9/11 imagery distasteful. Is it better to show these images and celebrate the fact that terrorists have not destroyed the American way of life, or is it better to pretend that the whole thing never happened.

If that is the case, then 3000 people's lives are being swept under the carpet as well, which seems disrespectful to me.

How can you say that the lives of the people who died are being swept under the carpet if 9/11 is not commercialized and capitalized on? I don't normally object to 9/11 imagery or references but I think using it in ADVERTISEMENTS, especially when dealing with security issues, is in poor taste. If anything it is ads like this one that are trivializing 9/11. Your computer is not a terrorist target.

I hope it is a joke, but if it isn't, it shows the depths to which some people and organisations will sink in order to try to sell things. As if people haven't got enough non-existent threats to be worried about. I'm surprised there's no microchip planes flying into the 'towers' - that would be a real touch of class. I guess the scale is too small to be able to see the tiny microchip people jumping from the microchip windows.

I've got a really great idea about the twin towers:

If you want to go on believing that it was a terrorist act, that Bush didn't know, and that he always tells the truth.. Then take a deep breath, and get over it.

Might become an internal target?

I appreciate the cleverness and artistry in this advertisement, but it still hits pretty hard. While our comedians do tend to make fun of many things that some consider better left alone, they do it with humor and in a manner as to make it palatable. This advertisement doesn't present a funny side to the issue; instead, it trivializes the death of nearly 3000 people (American or otherwise) by comparing them to kilobytes of data.

fuck poor taste

no this one actually is not in poor taste. The lego ads, and that korean mp3 player were in poor taste. This one actually i think is tastefully done in a way not making light of the situation but using them in a serious proper analogy. Computer hacking, especially large corporate servers or government and industrial servers and power grids and such are a real target that if attacked could have devistating concequences. Its just saying watch out or you could be a major target as well.

I'll put good taste aside here, unless I'm mistaken in thinking that advertising is about pushing ideas to the limit and taking chances, and concentrate merely on the idea here.
It all feels forced to me. If you have an idea that's obscene to begin with, go right ahead. If you insist on doing so to get attention you're wasting precious time and brain cells that will forget you shortly anyway. Take "Lego", for example, who did a much better job with 9/11 in advertising. It felt more relevant than this ad.
Being Cynical is easy. I know, I love it. Just make sure it's right for your ad.

Don't forget to hug your doorman,
