Clínica Dempere: Health

This has always been an interesting argument to me. Personally, I feel much of advertising is borrowed interest -- borrowing from a piece of iconic pop culture, and using it to communicate another idea, or adding a bit of a twist to it. Here, the twist would be Ariel's transformation from finned femme to legged lady via surgery, rather than magic -- telling the consumer magical results can, in fact, happen thanks to science and not fantasy.

I'm not saying I disagree with you, I'm just curious where we, in the industry, draw the line.

And for the record, I'm in between loving this campaign and despising it. That I think most "average Joes" would really get a kick out of this gives "loving" a bit more weight. But not much.
