if it's cupid, it's sloppy work on the art director's part. he has a christian halo and the line refers to heaven. cupid was actually a greek god. i'm guessing whoever did this thought he was an angel. but either way, it's at least somewhat religious in nature. but not in a negative of offensive way.

Never seen this before either. (that's rather the point of this site isn't it?). Love the copy.
Simple idea, beautifully executed. (btw, in my mind, and this context simple is a synonym for good!)

Ha, for once you've never seen something like this before, and by coincidence, I have for once seen something similar.

Not the same idea, but very similar style, using old paintings in their ad. It was the Union agency in Scotland, and it was for the National Galleries in Scotlands free bus service.

But these do look good.

Please, leave in peace religion.
Using saints and sacred items for this kind of ads is really bad.
And what's worst is that these things come from an indian agency.
Usually they are really careful with their religion.
But maybe they think they're allowed to joke with other religions...
Shame on them!

I hear what you're saying, and I agree, people shouldn't joke about other people's religions (any religion) in a negative way (like that Danish cartoon), but here I think it's a harmless joke.

I don't think the ads are that great though.

Agreed, Buggers... and, since when was Cupid a religious figure?

Title of the ad is not Cupid, is Cherub. You're a superficial idiot.

The title may be called "cherub", my little kitten, but take a good look at the image used. It's Cupid, it has a bow and arrows. Perhaps the art director who did this ad wasn't paying attention. There is also no need to be rude and name call.
