We want GOLD!

I like the art direction of these.

agree

what a great visual

beautiful. well done.

Silver for thew craft!

Looks amazing. Quite like the concept too.

Yeah looks fantastic. Is there a third one? Or didn't the retouching budget stretch that far? A pity if that's the case.

Everybody is asking for it, Ivan. Make the AoTW Awards!!! Everybody could vote for the best ads. Don't you think???

ivan's picture

If you guys want it, we can make it happen.

I think we should.

I don't. Too many morons on here have no idea what they're talking about, so I certainly wouldn't trust them to decide on who gets the awards.

Oh Boony, I agree there are some total 'wads' in here, but I think we could weed them out quick enough. Just tell them all the ads for judging are scams.

Or just have bullshit categories like' Best use of red coloured vegetable' or something.

You do have a very valid point though, as harsh as it seems. I have seen some pretty ridiculous posts here.

Maybe best use of monkey in an ad?

Yes. And best use of:

Post-it note
Cobweb
'Giant' something
'Really small' something
Scratchy
A swear word in a cool font
Cookie-cutter
Spielberg film reference

(any more guys?)

mona lisa
che guerva
wonder bra
play-doh
lego

but for serious, the ad world SO needs another award show.

It could be cool, but to present the counter arguement, part of what makes AotW so great is the total lack of authoritarian judgement on what is "good". Ivan, you post a great variety of great stuff, if the site starts determining ( gold / silver / ... ) you set a standard by which everything else is judged. I've kind of felt that this audience judged well enough for itself, the number of comments, or the amount of people who actually like something on here ( very rare for more than 2 people to agree ), speak volumes more than a "gold".

On the flip side, an awards show judged by (your average ad geeks from around the world) would have a nice feel to it. Judged by the people, rather than, "those people".

Oh, and, awesome campaign.

"It's Mabo. It's land rights. It's the VIBE, your honour!"

Maybe Ivan can set 2 groups, 1 is Ivan choice ( Ivan and he selected team choice) and another 1 is people choice (tat will be us!).

Agreed, there should indeed be 2 panels if there ever will be an award show.

1. Ivan and his 6 or 7 merry men
2. Some sort of big member poll

...and let the poets cry themselves to sleep. And all their tearfull words would turn back into steam

Yep.

"It's Mabo. It's land rights. It's the VIBE, your honour!"

Sounds good. Quarterly or monthly?

Quarterly... and I better be on this panel. The distinct lack of monkey ads in advertising today is extremely alarming. By being on an Ad Awards Panel I could probably start edging people in the correct monkey direction.

I think above all Ivan knows best who topick for his great panel of justice.
(and here it begins, i guess there will be around 30 people sucking up for being on that panel)

...anybody wanting to be the bookie on this one? :)

I think Ivan plus maybe 3 or 4 creative directors (respected ones, not hacks from small hokey agencies - we all know the ones) should make up 50% of the vote, the other 50% should be from a 'viewer's choice' poll. That way the awards could carry a bit of authority, and we'd all still get to have a say. And the CDs could get changed each time.

I've seen plenty of work here from Saatchi's NY so I'm sure people like Premutico and Jacobs would support it, and I've seen names like Eastwood etc floating around too. The awards on 'bestads' are judged by people like that, but the point of difference here would be that we'd get a say too.

And maybe the trophies could be monkeys. That ought to keep Tim the Weasle happy.

Sounds damn fair to me, but the awards should be called 'Internets' surely? The better the ad the more you get?

No, we all know the internets are for very very bad concepts and visual.
Another name should be introduced.

Well aren't you a party pooper...

The 'Worlds'?

"It's Mabo. It's land rights. It's the VIBE, your honour!"

well done.

i think the art direction is so cool!

Theres a building that looks really weird, strange angle.
Its a small one just in the border, just before tall ones start.
Just a detail.
Great campaign. Expected to see a third one

spooookeeee, i love it, but i expected the copy to be: to the end of the world :) or "im at the end of the world, mama"! but i loved it from first "thumbnail"

Excellent job there! Cool visual and concept.

Cool visual and concept ...........Great work

Humm.. nice... very nice...

But I agree with someone up there... I think there should be a monkey in this ad... maybe nera the distorted building someone claimed to have seen...

Lorem Ipsum dolor sit amet...

I like this one too.

Cool
