No, such detail is deliberate. It qualifies it as "naive art".
It's like a post-apocalyptic painting by Ross. "We're just going to put a happy little animal skeleton right here, and some extra detail on these tree stumps, just for fun."
I like these, especially the waterfall one, if just for the art.
