nice, but I smell scam - and so will the judges unfortunately. both ads beautifully shot, great art.

Why does everyone refer to ads as scam? I mean, I know the term and I know they didn't have clients breathing down their neck, but they still produced great work. Period. I'd love to see someone's book with nothing but legitimately produced, jaw dropping work. So many of these agencies say that they are going to boycot spec work in competitions, but it's the same kind of work they made their name on.

Can someone just judge the work for what it is.

please tell me what the great work in this ad is (apart from the photographer). It looks like a stock photo they placed a logo on.

have to agree there brandon - but I guess the line has to be drawn at some point before award shows and ad agencies lose credibility entirely.

That is a war impossible to win. It's like drug usage in sports. There will always be cheaters as what is spec and what is not is very hard to decide if you really think about it.

Well said brandon, I'm getting sick of people banging on about 'oh, another scam ad, boo'...don't these people realise most award-winning ads are scams? And you're right, we should be able to judge the concept (art direction. copy etc) regardless of the client's actual billing to an agency.

Yes! I agree with Bknowlden.

Why do we have to refer to a good idea as "scam". Why don't we just look at the idea. Just because of the bleak fact that a client isn't not really in the same plane as the idea, or the client servicing a**h***s lack potential to sell that good idea to the client, do we have to jump from the rooftops and brand a good idea as a "scam..."

As such we are all working in a field where we have to rack the hell out of our brains to make somebody else's (client) sh*t sell... So if we, at some point of time, feel gratified about doing something that seems to be a good idea, something that satisfies our own creative tastes, what’s the freakin harm in it?

- The trick to forgetting the big picture is to look at everything close-up.

youre right, the other one is sort of funny, not so serious but this is a bit harsh isnt it? Someone dying?

What? Tattoos don't leave you, but your girl does? That's the idea? Thank's a lot. 1. That's a little bit too far for me and 2. After lieing down there for some time, the Tattoo is also gone by the worms.

No, but that's what I thought at first as well.

The idea is that her boyfriend left her when he left this world and died.

Kinda depressing. I like the art but I don't like the idea, the other one is better.

Confusing.
This campaign isn't clicking with me.
Why is there nothing else on the tombstone? Just name and life dates.
A hastily photoshopped graveyard out on what looks like a golf course fairway?
Seems to be wanting something written (tattooed?) there.
I would expect a strong graphic rather than a soft emotional message for a Tatt client.

This is an 'off brief' thought...
but, looking at that the dead guy's sparse grave...
what if the dude's headstone was all 'his' tatt design.

Is this the 'spot the fake ad' forum is it? Sorry, I must be in the wrong place, I was just looking for some cool ads to critique. My mistake...

Sigackly. Thumbs up for scam. If agency pays to produce and flight at least once, that means it's eligible. Sweet.
