i thought the idea was that when a boot full of mud comes over whatever, it splashes it with mud, thus it is no longer cleen, so when a man controls your life, it really is no longer your life... the muddy boots have nothing to do with man coming from work, or man with unclean boots... its symbolism, and i love it
