I quite like this, but what would've made it better is tying the copy in with the category (News, Life, Sport).

good... only if they could have a symbol at the end of it to give a clue to readers what is it all about.
few years back Crispin Porter Bogusky did exactly the same thing for Mini (numbers were car features). I think it won in Cannes too and was featured in CommArts.

I quite like it. I felt its innovative but still a small symbol or picture could have been more prominent. Even if the text font was more bold, so no one would miss it.
